~What'cha Doin' Tomorrow?~

Tomorrow I get to exercise my duty as an American citizen: I vote.

I've been reading so much about this "duty" and our "right", but I don't seem to find much about the importance of voting wisely. "Vote your conscience" has been touted, along with some saying that we need to vote to support our President. That last one strikes me as odd, I can not remember a President asking for support during a mid-term election before.

When I step into that booth tomorrow, it will be with 2 thoughts in mind: to vote to uphold the Constitution of the United States as it was written by our forefathers, and to give my children a better country for tomorrow.

How interesting that, as far left as the media is on a regular basis, this same media supports the right during elections. Has anyone else thought of it? This media gets Republican numbers for rallies wrong as a matter of course, but get close to an election and all they do is pump up the numbers of our ranks. WHY? Could it be to lull the Right into a comfier spot on the couch. "Well, everyone else is going to vote. I'll stay home."

Could it be to empower the Left even more? "We'd better get out there and make our voices heard!"

Think about it.

I know that I'm not in the minority here. I feel like it often enough though. "Freedom of Speech" has slowly seemed to become Freedom of Left Speech.  In public, thanks to Political Correctness , I am no longer welcomed to voice my thoughts as they might differ from the person next to me. How many of you have felt the same?

So tomorrow I will squeeze into that booth with as many of my children as space will allow. I will show them how and tell them why I vote. I implore you each to do the same. No one else can vote for you. If you choose to stay at home and allow someone else to vote for you, it won't happen. Only you can make your own voice heard.

I am the silent  majority   and I vote.

  1. As much as we might disagree politically; tomorrow I will be a poll worker and I will uphold the US Constitution and protect everybody's right to vote!

  2. I was laughing about it the other day Katrin! We are so much alike except for politics! So exciting to work at the polls! How did you volunteer for that? I'd love to know more about it.

  3. Well said. I KNOW that you can fit all your kids in there with you. One on your back, hold one on your hip. the other little one in front of you, and one on each side. Voila(or however you spell it), everyone's in there. Take care and I will be calling you for those sin-o-mun rolls some day.
